Job Description
HGV Mechanic - Experienced
We are looking for an experienced HGV mechanic who is a team player and can service and repair HGVs to MOT standard. We require someone reliable, flexible, hardworking, and able to communicate effectively, with a strong commitment to Health & Safety.
Hours: Monday to Friday, typically 7:00am - 5:00pm. Occasional Saturdays may be required.
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
Report all vehicle defects to the garage manager.
Conduct safety inspections, routine maintenance, and repairs to the highest standards.
Diagnose and rectify faults using advanced technical skills and diagnostic equipment.
Perform thorough inspections following DVSA guidelines.
Carry out fault diagnosis, servicing, and repairs.
Complete safety inspection sheets and job write-ups using provided tablets.
Work effectively under pressure and actively seek solutions to problems.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an HGV mechanic.
Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ) and proven experience in repairing and maintaining vehicles.
Current driving licence essential; HGV licence beneficial but not essential.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work under pressure.
