Job Description
We are currently looking for a skilled and reliable HGV Mechanic to join our team. You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, repairs, inspections, and servicing on a fleet of HGVs and commercial vehicles to ensure they meet safety and legal standards.
Responsibilities:
Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Class 1 HGVs and trailers.
Diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical faults.
Conduct pre-MOT inspections and prepare vehicles for testing.
Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues.
Complete job cards and service records accurately.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Attend breakdowns as required.
Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
Proven experience as an HGV mechanic/technician.
Full UK Driving Licence (HGV Class 1 is an advantage).
Good understanding of DVSA regulations.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Desirable:
IRTEC accreditation (preferred but not essential).
Experience with a range of commercial vehicle brands.
Welding/fabrication skills (preferred but not essential)
