Job Description
ETM Group, based in Bristol, provide waste management and highways maintenance services across the South West, with a large fleet of vehicles.
As our HGV Mechanic, you'll play a key role in keeping our fleet on the road, making sure our vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready to deliver. Your expertise helps us maintain the high standards our customers rely on, ensuring we continue to provide excellent service every day.
To succeed in this role, you will be motivated to help oversee fleet operations with your responsibilities, including:
Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs, trailers and a variety of vehicles to meet safety and performance standards.
Conducting routine inspections, MOT preparation, and ad-hoc driver defect repairs.
Diagnosing and fixing electrical and mechanical faults using the latest tools and systems.
Handling breakdowns and reactive maintenance, aiming for first-time fixes.
Ensuring that all repairs follow the manufacturer's guidelines and warranty procedures.
Accurately record all work on our fleet management system and report defects promptly.

You are a team player, and building strong relationships across the workshop is important to you; you know effective communication at all levels keeps things running smoothly. You take pride in doing things the right way, ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards. You're not afraid to hold yourself accountable to keep our fleet roadworthy and our customers moving.
The Key Requirements
NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent experience)
HGV experience in a fast-paced environment
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Class 1 license is desirable
This role is site-based, Monday to Friday, 06:00 am - 16:00.
