Job DescriptionWe are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Driver to join our team in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations across Ireland and potentially the UK/Europe. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate and drive HGV vehicles (Category C or C+E) in compliance with road traffic regulations and company policies.
- Transport goods to and from specified locations, ensuring timely delivery.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Load and unload goods securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and working hours using tachographs or digital systems.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and warehouse staff.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including vehicle maintenance and safe driving practices.
- Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or delays promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
- Valid HGV Category C (Class 2) or C+E (Class 1) driving license.
- Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) card.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an HGV driver.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and driving best practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if required.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Good physical fitness for loading/unloading and long driving hours.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Irish road networks and routes is preferred.
- Experience with multi-drop deliveries.
- Knowledge of tachograph regulations and digital systems.
- ADR certification (for hazardous goods transportation) is a plus.
- Experience driving in the UK/Europe is an advantage.
