Drivers Direct are recruiting multiple Class 2 HGV Drivers for a busy wholesale distribution client based in Fareham . This role involves multi drop deliveries of wholesale items, cage deliveries, and occasional pallet work. We have immediate starts available for both temporary agency drivers and drivers seeking a permanent position .

Role Overview

You will be delivering wholesale goods to newsagents, shops, households and commercial customers. Deliveries can involve country roads, tight high streets and awkward access points , so strong driving awareness and problem solving skills are essential.

You will also assist the warehouse team with loading the vehicle , ensuring you understand the stock layout before leaving the depot.

Key Responsibilities

Multi drop deliveries of wholesale items
Delivering cages (heavy), carpets, linos, tiles and occasional pallets
Assisting warehouse staff with loading to understand stock placement
Navigating country lanes, narrow streets and busy high street locations
Identifying safe and suitable parking points for each delivery
Using tools/equipment provided for moving heavier items
Maintaining excellent customer service and safe driving standards
Working full time Monday to Friday (approx. finish)

Hours & Pay

Agency Shifts:

£17.00 per hour basic
£19.05 per hour including holiday
Weekly pay every Friday

Temp to Perm:

£17.79 per hour
Rate matched when permanent
Full time hours (approx. 9-10 hours per day)
Monday to Friday, 5am start

Requirements

Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
CPC & Digital Tachograph
Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
Confident with cage deliveries and bulkier items
Strong area knowledge and safe parking judgement
Reliable, professional and customer focused
Comfortable problem solving on challenging routes

Equipment & Vehicles

Modern vehicles with camera assist wing mirrors
Tools provided for moving heavy items
Supportive warehouse team for loading
