HGV Class 1 Driver (CE Licence)
Location: Winsford, Cheshire
Hourly Rate: £16.00 per hour
Overnight Allowance: £26.20 per night (tax-free)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Holiday: 20 days per year, plus all bank holidays
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, timely, and professional delivery of goods to our customers. Operating Single, double deck and Moffett trailers, you will report directly to the Logistics Manager and support the business through reliable and efficient transport.

Key Responsibilities
Operate HGV Class 1 (CE) vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues.
Deliver and collect steel waste containers to customer sites nationwide.
Secure and manage loads in compliance with safety and legal requirements.
Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate effectively with dispatch.
Uphold high standards of customer service and represent the company positively.
Assist with trailer loading/unloading as required; forklift drivers often assist upon return to depot.
Schedule & Working Conditions
Working days: Monday to Friday
Start times between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM depending on customer requirements.
(Some London-based customers require arrivals by 7:00 AM.)
No shifts begin before 4:00 AM.
Average 2 nights out per week (not typically consecutive); weekly schedule issued every Thursday, but subject to change.
Due to the nature of the role, applicants should ideally live within a 20-mile radius of Winsford, as we cannot guarantee more than two nights out per week.
What We're Looking For
Minimum 2 years of continuous HGV Class 1 (CE) driving experience (essential).
Experience operating double deck trailers or Moffett (preferred but not essential as training will be provided).
Strong awareness of vehicle and load safety requirements.
Comfortable with the physical aspects of the role, including manual loading/unloading.
A safe and responsible driving history, with no serious or current licence issues.
