Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery operations.

Duties

Operate wagon and drag vehicle and other HGV vehicles in compliance with legal and company regulations
Conduct pre-journey safety inspections and ensure the vehicle is roadworthy before departure
Deliver goods to various locations, adhering to scheduled routes and delivery times
Secure cargo properly, especially when transporting flatbed loads, to prevent movement during transit
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams
Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Complete daily vehicle logs and report any issues or incidents promptly
Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, ensuring proper handling techniques are used -\_ Crane licence is essential \_

Experience

Proven experience as a commercial driver, ideally within a builders merchant type environment, rigid wagon with drag trailer capabilities or similar heavy goods vehicles (HGVs)
Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with route planning and customer service skills
Valid UK driving licence with HGV Class 1 (C+E) certification
Knowledge of current driving regulations and safety standards for commercial vehicles
Experience in handling flatbed loads and securing cargo effectively is advantageous
