Job Description
HGV & Trailer mechanic
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs : Perform regular maintenance checks and repairs on HGVs & Trailer, including engines, brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems.
Diagnostics : Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and troubleshoot problems in vehicles.
Inspection : Conduct thorough inspections to ensure vehicles comply with safety regulations and are roadworthy.
MOT Prep: Prepare vehicles for yearly MOT Inspection
Documentation : Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance work, and inspections performed on each vehicle.
Collaboration : Work as a team with other mechanics and staff to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
Requirements:
Education : A relevant qualification, such as a City & Guilds or NVQ in vehicle maintenance and repair.
Experience : Previous experience working with HGVs or heavy machinery
Skills : Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Certifications : Relevant certifications (like a driver's license for HGVs) may be required.
This role is essential for ensuring the safety and reliability of commercial transportation.
