Chris Wright Road Planing Ltd is a well-established, family-run road planing contractor based in West Yorkshire, operating nationwide across highways, infrastructure, and construction sectors.
We run a modern fleet of road planers, sweepers, tippers, vans, and support vehicles, delivering high-quality, reliable surfacing preparation services for major contractors and frameworks.
Our in-house workshop is fundamental to our operation, ensuring our plant and vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced HGV / Plant Mechanic to join our in-house workshop team.
The role involves inspections, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs across our fleet of road planers, sweepers, HGVs, and support vehicles, as well as preparing equipment for MOT and statutory inspections. You will play a key role in ensuring our fleet remains operational, road-safe, and fully compliant at all times.
This is a stable, weekday-based role with overtime paid at time-and-a-half and occasional weekend work to support operational requirements.

20 days holiday plus statutory entitlement, rising to 22 days after 6 months

What We're Looking For
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle or Plant Maintenance & Repair
Proven experience working on HGVs, plant, or specialist construction equipment
Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
A methodical, safety-focused approach to maintenance and repairs
A positive, professional attitude and ability to work as part of a team
