Hertfordshire Services for Young People provides informal education / youth work, careers education information advice guidance, work related learning, work experience and the review and maintenance of education health and care plans for young people post-16 / post school.
Our vision is clear. We want young people to succeed. By joining us, you will play a vital role in helping them overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve positive futures.
We work with vulnerable young people to address emerging needs, improve life chances, and reduce escalation to more expensive and intensive services.
This includes supporting those challenged in education, their community or home life, to ensure a successful transition to adulthood. The young people are typically 11-17 and up to 25 for Care Leavers and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
You will have the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with diverse groups of young people and partners, to respond flexibly to their needs and to the priorities of the Service.
Good organisation and communication skills are essential as you will be producing reports and corresponding with young people, parents, and partner agencies. You should be confident in the use of IT including to accurately record data.
You will be required to travel across the county so access to a vehicle is essential.
Successful unqualified applicants for Youth Worker positions will be fully funded to complete a JNC higher education qualification.
