The role:
We are looking for an experienced Plant Fitter / Heavy Plant Engineer to join our maintenance team based in Preston.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain mobile and fixed plant and equipment
- Complete engine servicing and repair on mobile plant engines
- Be able to carry out simple fabrications to be able to repair mobile / fixed plant and equipment
- Order and fit correct spare parts for mobile plant and equipment
- Complete required paperwork accurately for traceability and auditing
- Manage assigned workload to ensure that mobile plant and equipment is available when required
- Welder and fabrication
- Maintain crushers, bailers and conveyor systems
- Carry out service inspections
- Service and repair experience on the following equipment:- 360 degree excavators and grabs, shovel, FLT's, Class 1 & 3 tractor and trailer units and teleporters.
- Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Work to a maintenance schedule, recording all tasks complete.
- Additional ad-hoc duties when and where required.
The ideal candidate:
- Previous experience in recycling machinery maintenance
- Confident in dealing with a wide variety of machinery
- Enjoys working outdoors in a busy environment
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Health and Safety conscious
- Diesel and gas engine experience
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience
- HGV and construction experience
- Good organisation skills
