Shift -Two possible shifts - open to discussion (either 42.75 per week Mon-FriOR48 hours 4 on 4 off)

Salary:Competitive - dependent on experience

The role:

We are looking for an experienced Plant Fitter / Heavy Plant Engineer to join our maintenance team based in Preston.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain mobile and fixed plant and equipment
  • Complete engine servicing and repair on mobile plant engines
  • Be able to carry out simple fabrications to be able to repair mobile / fixed plant and equipment
  • Order and fit correct spare parts for mobile plant and equipment
  • Complete required paperwork accurately for traceability and auditing
  • Manage assigned workload to ensure that mobile plant and equipment is available when required
  • Welder and fabrication
  • Maintain crushers, bailers and conveyor systems
  • Carry out service inspections
  • Service and repair experience on the following equipment:- 360 degree excavators and grabs, shovel, FLT's, Class 1 & 3 tractor and trailer units and teleporters.
  • Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Work to a maintenance schedule, recording all tasks complete.
  • Additional ad-hoc duties when and where required.

The ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience in recycling machinery maintenance
  • Confident in dealing with a wide variety of machinery
  • Enjoys working outdoors in a busy environment
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic and demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Health and Safety conscious
  • Diesel and gas engine experience
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience
  • HGV and construction experience
  • Good organisation skills
