Healthcare Inquests Lawyer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate or Senior Associate to join a growing Healthcare & Public Law team in Liverpool.

This is a fantastic role for a solicitor or barrister with strong healthcare inquest experience who is looking to join a well-established national team acting for NHS and other health and social care organisations across a broad range of advisory and contentious matters.

The role

You'll be advising NHS bodies and other public and private healthcare organisations on a varied caseload, including:

• Healthcare inquests (with and without juries), including advocacy
• Court of Protection, treatment and best interests matters
• Public law issues, including governance, consultation, judicial review and human rights
• Patient complaints, serious incident investigations and Ombudsman matters
• Mental health, information governance and wider healthcare regulatory issues

You'll work closely with experienced specialists across the healthcare, public law and regulatory sectors, with plenty of opportunity to develop your expertise and play a part in business development initiatives.

About you

• Qualified solicitor or barrister
• Strong experience handling healthcare inquests, including advocacy
• Previous healthcare law experience
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A proactive, collaborative approach
• Willingness to travel where required

Experience of Court of Protection work or wider health and social care law would be advantageous, but is not essential.
