We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Substance Misuse team at HMP Lindholme, a Category C male adult prison based in Doncaster, with an operational capacity of around 900 inmates. The role is crucial to the healthcare team, delivering outstanding care and personal support to patients in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Job summaryThis part time position provides 17.5 hours of work per week, ideally Monday and Friday, with flexible scheduling between 8 am and 4 pm if required. It offers excellent developmental opportunities in a supportive setting.
SalaryAnnual salary up to £29,723 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

- Carry out urine drug screening

- Assist the substance misuse nursing team with all aspects of care
- Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required
- Support reception (new patients entering the prison) and assist with triaging new patients

- Venepuncture training and experience is essential
- Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or the Care Certificate
- Experience in a clinical care setting, preferably a hospital or prison environment
- Clinical experience with observations, ECGs and related assessments
- A non judgemental and compassionate approach
- Legal right to work in the UK; additional vetting and security checks will be required
