Pay: £17.00 per hour

Shifts: 10:00 pm - 8:00 am (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday)

Are you a compassionate and understanding carer looking to make a real difference in someone's life?

At MCS Healthcare, we are looking for dedicated Health Care Assistants to support a young client living at home with their family in Radstock. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide consistent, person-centred care to an adolescent with a learning disability and epilepsy.

About the Role

You will be supporting a young person who lives in a loving family home. The client requires reassurance, structure, and consistent support, especially during the night.

They may use their behaviour to communicate, so they need a calm, patient carer who can understand their needs. At times, the client may display behaviours that challenge, particularly if they feel overwhelmed or unsettled. Building trust, offering reassurance, and responding in a calm and supportive way is essential.

This role is not just about care tasks-it's about building a positive relationship, promoting a sense of safety, and supporting the client to feel comfortable in their own home.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Empathetic, patient, and understanding
  • A good listener who can respond calmly to needs
  • Confident in supporting behaviours that may challenge
  • Able to build strong rapport with the client and family

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing personal and emotional support
  • Supporting and managing behaviours that may challenge in a calm and safe manner
  • Monitoring wellbeing and ensuring safety overnight
  • Supporting with epilepsy care
  • Promoting comfort, dignity, and reassurance at all times

Why Join MCS Healthcare?

  • £17.00 per hour
  • Paid induction and training
  • Ongoing support and development
  • Flexible working patterns
  • Supportive and respectful team environment

What We're Looking For

  • At least 1 year of care experience
  • PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) training
  • A caring and professional approach
  • Willingness to learn and follow care plans
  • Experience in learning disabilities or similar settings (preferred)

Please note: We do not hold a UK Sponsorship Licence. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.?
