Healthcare Assistant

The job role is for a Healthcare Assistant at the Avalon Centre in Swindon, operated by Elysium Healthcare. The successful candidate will be part of an inclusive and supportive team providing care and support to service users with neurological conditions and complex needs, as part of a neurobehavioral rehabilitation programme.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day care of service users, including ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. The role requires a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance to work in a challenging but rewarding environment.

Job responsibilities

What you will be doing: You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to service users who have neurological injuries, challenging and complex needs and require a neurobehavioral rehabilitation programme. Your day to day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3 4 days a week including days, nights and weekends.

Location

The Avalon Centre, Edison Park Hindle Way, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN3 3RT. You will be working at a purpose built neurological centre for adults over the age of 18 with an acquired brain injury, designed to support people who, because of their injury, have challenging and complex needs and require a neurobehavioral rehabilitation programme.

Person Specification

Qualifications: No specific qualifications are required, but experience as a Healthcare Assistant in the UK is preferred.
