Job Description
Circa £37,463 depending on skills and experience
12 month Secondment, 37 hours per week
Location: Bury St Edmunds/Ipswich but covering the East of England

A role where you will be responsible for undertaking and delivering of the overall programme of Site Safety Inspections for all Water Recycling Assets. Ensuring that major actions arising are appropriately prioritised, actioned and funded through to resolution.
You will be reporting to the Area Service Manager, where you will be owning and completing Site Safety Inspections in accordance with the programme of Site Safety Inspections, as well as ensuring a log of actions is produced in accordance with the Management of Hazard Identification. Complete minor tasks and resolve minor remedial actions using hand tools as part of the inspection whilst on-site to mitigate re-attendance.
Additionally, you will be supporting Front Line Managers with the completion of actions through effective liaison with delivery teams and working with Operational teams to ensure remedial works are funded and delivered through the appropriate routes.
Finally, you will be contributing to the development of safety policies, procedures and instructions by participating in working groups, while coaching and developing team members understanding on an ad hoc basis.

What does it take to be a Health and Safety Technician?
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
- Proven operational safety experience including a hands-on practical approach to resolving issues
- Proven coaching ability
- Willingness to learn, take initiative and be flexible.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent networking and communication skills
- Excellent IT skills particularly excel
- Ability to be flexible in responding to safety related demands
- Ability to work in a team as well self-motivated to work on your own
