The roleOrbit is delighted to announce that we are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Project Lead to join the team. In this vital role, you will assist the Head of Health and Safety in implementing and maintaining a Group-wide Health and Safety Management System to ensure legal compliance.
Day-to-day, you will provide project and systems leadership to improve the H&S infrastructure, systems, compliance, audit, assurance, and competency. You should have proven experience working with H&S management systems (accident reporting, lone worker monitoring, grey fleet management) and experience in Social Housing.
What you'll achieveYour key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and developing the Group Health & Safety Assurance Coordinator.
- Managing, collating, and submitting Orbit's annual ROSPA Sector Award - Public Services and Local Government.
- Updating existing and developing new e-learning and classroom training, delivering training internally.
- Collating data, conducting statistical analysis, and producing monthly and quarterly health & safety performance reports.
- Implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, procedures, and guidance, and highlighting updates needed to the Health & Safety Manager.
- Providing support to other departments on H&S issues when necessary.
Essential skills:
- Experience in delivering and monitoring H&S activities across multiple sites.
- Experience developing H&S Management Systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel with own transport.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Management and coaching experience (desirable).
