The role

Orbit is delighted to announce that we are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Project Lead to join the team. In this vital role, you will assist the Head of Health and Safety in implementing and maintaining a Group-wide Health and Safety Management System to ensure legal compliance.

Day-to-day, you will provide project and systems leadership to improve the H&S infrastructure, systems, compliance, audit, assurance, and competency. You should have proven experience working with H&S management systems (accident reporting, lone worker monitoring, grey fleet management) and experience in Social Housing.

What you'll achieve

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing the Group Health & Safety Assurance Coordinator.
• Managing, collating, and submitting Orbit's annual ROSPA Sector Award - Public Services and Local Government.
• Updating existing and developing new e-learning and classroom training, delivering training internally.
• Collating data, conducting statistical analysis, and producing monthly and quarterly health & safety performance reports.
• Implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, procedures, and guidance, and highlighting updates needed to the Health & Safety Manager.
• Providing support to other departments on H&S issues when necessary.

What you'll bring

Essential skills:

• Experience in delivering and monitoring H&S activities across multiple sites.
• Experience developing H&S Management Systems.
• Willingness and ability to travel with own transport.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Management and coaching experience (desirable).
