Dublin 18 Permanent Full-Time €45,000 - €50,000 DOE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join a well established international educational organisation based in Dublin 18.
This is a standalone Health & Safety position with responsibility for developing, maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture across a modern, multi building campus live environment. Working as part of a collaborative Operations team, you will take ownership of health and safety compliance while supporting the wider facilities function as required. This role would suit an experienced Health & Safety professional who enjoys working in a visible, hands on environment and building strong relationships with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders.
The RoleReporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the organisation remains compliant with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and internal standards. You will act as the key point of contact for all Health & Safety matters and play a leading role in driving continuous improvement across the site. Projects will include the construction and development of an Auditorium which is outsourced to a construction company.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain the organisation's Health & Safety Management System.
- Review and update risk assessments and Safety Statements.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits.
- Lead accident, incident and near miss investigations.
- Manage statutory inspections and compliance schedules.
- Act as Fire Safety Officer, coordinating fire safety programmes, inspections and evacuation drills.
- Review contractor RAMS and manage permit to work processes.
- Support staff inductions and Health & Safety training initiatives.
- Oversee COSHH and manual handling programmes.
- Liaise with external contractors, regulatory bodies and service providers.
- Promote a positive safety culture across the organisation.
- Provide operational support to the wider facilities team where required.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A recognised Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a dedicated Health & Safety role.
- Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and managing compliance programmes.
- Fire safety management experience.
- Experience managing contractors and permit to work systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and solutions focused approach.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Fire Safety qualification.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience within education, healthcare, facilities management or other multi stakeholder environments.
- Monday to Friday
- 7:30am - 4:00pm
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
- Salary up to €50,000 DOE.
