Health and Safety Manager - £85,000 (DOE) + £5,000 Car Allowance + Further Excellent Benefits - Location: Hull

Do you have experience partnering with operational teams to improve standards, reduce risk and deliver continuous improvement across a manufacturing site?

We are recruiting for a confidential food manufacturing organisation seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead the HSE agenda at a large, complex manufacturing facility in Hull. This is a highly visible role, working closely with the site leadership team to drive compliance, engagement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety and environmental strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Partner with operational leaders to embed a proactive safety culture across all areas of the site.
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, audits and inspections, ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented.
  • Drive employee engagement and behavioural safety initiatives to improve safety performance and ownership at all levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and company standards.
  • Act as the key point of contact for regulatory bodies and support external audits and inspections.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a Health and Safety leadership role within food manufacturing, FMCG, or a similarly fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • NEBOSH/NVQ Level 3 or higher in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • A track record of influencing operational teams and senior stakeholders to drive positive cultural change.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience managing audits, investigations, compliance programmes and continuous improvement initiatives.
