Job Title: Health & Safety Manager
Location: Bristol & South West Region
Salary: £60,000 per annum
Sector: Rail / Infrastructure
Position Type: Permanent

Navartis is currently working with a leading infrastructure contractor who is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join their team and play a key role in driving health, safety, and environmental excellence across rail and wider infrastructure operations in the South West region.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing HSQE team within a well-established organisation undergoing continued growth in the rail sector. The position will suit an experienced H&S professional who enjoys a balance of site engagement, client liaison, and strategic input.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the key point of contact for health & safety matters within the infrastructure division, with a primary focus on rail projects

  • Conduct internal audits, inspections and ensure compliance with company IMS and industry standards

  • Advise senior leadership on legal compliance and best practices

  • Lead on accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and driving improvements

  • Support delivery teams with project-specific risk assessments and safe systems of work

  • Collaborate with client HSQE teams to ensure a joined-up approach to safety on joint ventures and frameworks

  • Deliver behavioural safety programmes and toolbox talks alongside the L&D function

  • Monitor and close out non-conformances and support continuous improvement initiatives

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Strong background in H&S management within the rail or wider infrastructure sector

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and IOSH (Certified or Chartered)

  • Demonstrable experience with site audits, risk assessments and safe systems of work

  • Track record of liaising with regulatory bodies, clients and operational teams

  • Confident in leading investigations and reporting on findings

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally
