Health & Safety Manager - Demolition & Asbestos Focus

Location: Based in Sidcup, with time split between head office and sites across the region.

A leading specialist contractor is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their team on a part-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a strategic role, ensuring compliance and promoting a strong safety culture across demolition and asbestos projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health & safety policies and procedures in line with legislation and best practice.

  • Carry out site inspections and audits to ensure standards are met and proactively identify risks.

  • Provide training and guidance to site and office teams on all aspects of health, safety, and environmental compliance.

  • Conduct investigations and prepare reports following incidents or near misses.

  • Liaise with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and senior management to ensure smooth project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a health & safety role within demolition and asbestos projects.

  • Relevant health & safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate, relevant asbestos certifications).

  • Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and industry standards.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, able to engage teams on site and in the office.

  • Flexibility to work approximately 2-3 days per week in head office, with the remainder of time spent visiting sites.
