Job Description:

Company: Highrisk, FastPaced, Manufacturing Company

Vacancy: Health and Safety Manager

Salary: £65,000-£70,000 per annum + Package (DOE)

Based: Leicestershire

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive and maintain H&S compliance across two small, high-risk manufacturing sites and promote industry best practices.
  • Support the Environment Department.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with relevant H&S regulatory and industry organizations; participate in meetings and initiatives.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports to Directors and Shareholders.
  • Mentor Safety Champions and direct reports.
  • Deliver training and ensure effectiveness throughout the business.
  • Conduct daily and monthly safety walks across sites.
  • Drive safety accountability at senior management level.
  • Review and develop safety procedures and documentation.
  • Coordinate with European colleagues and undertake internal audits at other sites within the group.
  • Develop and implement cultural and behavioral change programs across sites.
  • Ensure safety ownership is driven by the workforce at all levels.
  • Maintain ISO standards, 45001 and 14001.
  • Champion safety during complex projects planned for the year.
  • Standardize site practices and reduce inconsistencies.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • NEBOSH certificate at minimum, ideally NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in manufacturing or heavy industry (waste, quarrying, food manufacturing, bakery, foundry, chemicals, beverage manufacturing, packaging, forestry, paper manufacturing).
  • Multi-site experience.
