Job Description
About The Role

We are recruiting for a Health and Safety Compliance and Training Manager to join our Service.

In this role, you will:
  • Be based at the Waste Operations Depot
  • Undertake the development and delivery of health, safety and operational management programmes, projects and policies, under the direction of the Waste Services Management and Corporate Health and Safety Manager and in accordance with the Council's health and safety programme of work.
  • Provide advice and support to managers and employees on all health & safety matters, including legal compliance, operational best practice, accident and ill health prevention in accordance with Council policies and procedures.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to managers on complex health and safety cases, including interpretation and application of the Council's health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct investigations of accidents and incidents, producing reports as required, and making practical, cost-effective recommendations as appropriate and ensure that actions are taken as necessary to protect the Council's employees, reputation and assets.
About You
  • To hold a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Have a proven track record of planning, developing and providing in-house health, safety and operational training, including providing briefings and training delivery as required using both internal and third part training platforms for Waste Operations - i.e. IOSH Managing and Working Safely.
  • Proven technical knowledge of requirements for advising managers on health and safety operational, procedural and policy issues and contributing to organisational benefits and statutory compliance.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse community.
