Job Description

A well-established property investment group is seeking a Health and Safety Assistant to join their in-house commercial property management team in London. This permanent role supports health and safety standards across a large portfolio of over 800 commercial and residential properties nationwide. This role is 5 days a week based in the Angel officeWhat you'll do

  • Support health & safety compliance across a large, multi-site commercial and residential property portfolio
  • Liaise with external health & safety, asbestos, and legionella consultants
  • Attend quarterly health & safety and people & culture committee meetings
  • Coordinate risk assessments, audits, and statutory compliance documentation
  • Manage health & safety training schedules, renewals, and internal communications
  • Support and train staff on H&S compliance systems and software
  • Assist with policy reviews, emergency procedures, and approved contractor lists
  • Provide practical H&S advice to staff, contractors, and tenants
  • Manage incident reporting and RIDDOR processes via internal systems (e.g. Meridian)
  • Support continuous improvement and regulatory updates (e.g. CDM requirements)
What you bring
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
  • GCSEs including English and Maths (essential); IOSH / NVQ desirable
  • 1-2 years experience in a health & safety support role, ideally multi-site
  • Property sector experience (commercial or residential) preferred
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office; MRI Horizon or similar a bonus)
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident, empathetic communicator able to advise a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proactive, collaborative, and hands-on approach to workload
