Health & Safety Advisor

Location:Ipswich-based with travel across East Anglia (2-3 days per week)

Salary:£35,000 - £45,000 + Company Vehicle or Allowance

Hours:Full-Time, Permanent, Monday-Friday (40 hours per week)

The Role

As Health & Safety Advisor, you'll support teams across the business to maintain and improve health, safety and compliance standards. This includes conducting audits, delivering briefings, supporting incident investigations and championing a strong safety culture across all levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out site audits and inspections to ensure safety compliance.
  • Support managers and site teams with practical H&S advice.
  • Lead or support investigations into incidents and near misses.
  • Review and prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Deliver Toolbox Talks, bulletins, and safety briefings.
  • Promote a proactive and positive health & safety culture.
  • Engage with subcontractors, clients and stakeholders on H&S matters.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with legislative requirements.
What You'll Need

Essential:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Solid knowledge of UK H&S legislation
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Confidence working with site teams and senior management

Desirable:

  • Construction / Civils (or similar) industry experience
  • Audit or report writing skills
  • Flexible, self-motivated and organised
