About the RoleThe Health & Safety Advisor will work closely with the wider operations team to develop and implement Border's health and safety strategy. You will play a key role in ensuring that Border is a safe and compliant place to work by fostering a safety-first culture across all levels of the organisation, encouraging collaboration, and supporting the principles of the "Border Way".
- Support Operations through development, embedding and promotion of health and safety standards within the Company and implementing and maintaining Company Health & Safety, policies, procedures, standards and working practices; enhancing the safety culture within the business ensuring a focus towards zero accidents and injury.
- To ensure the Health & Safety Policy and supporting procedures are implemented consistently across the Company.
- To monitor, evaluate and review Health & Safety policy and practices, make recommendations and amend as required.
- To advise on the implications of current and emerging health and safety legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations, and generating action plans to ensure compliance across the Company.
- Develop and deliver in-house training with managers and employees on all relevant aspects of health and safety.
- Ensure the Health & Safety function provides the required expertise to all areas of the business, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Work within all business areas to ensure Health & Safety standards are appropriately implemented within their areas of control and are sufficiently robust for anticipated demands.
- Provide input for regular Health & Safety communications for all levels of staff to include written information, toolbox talks and management briefings.
- Support CSR strategy and appropriate actions.
- Hold a minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience of working in a similar role within a FMCG/Manufacturing environment.
- Strong working experience of H&S systems and legislation such as ISO45001/ISO 14001.
- Strong & confident communicator and good stakeholder management skills.
