Job Description

Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12 month fixed term Administration Assistant within the SPHERE Bladder & Bowel Service (Supporting Pelvic Health through Empowerment, Rehabilitation and Education). The service provides assessment, support and treatment for people across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde experiencing bladder and bowel issues.

The post supports the administration team, providing comprehensive admin/secretarial support to SPHERE. Key duties include ensuring timely and accurate provision of containment products for patients.

You will work independently and as part of a wider team, managing calls and emails and updating the product supply database. You will liaise with patients, carers, care home staff and other professionals. Applicants should have relevant administration/business support experience; experience in health or social care is desirable.

Visa sponsorship may be available for certain roles, subject to eligibility criteria. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and will be determined on a case by case basis following interview and during the pre employment verification process. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

This is a fixed term post for 12 months, working 14.4 hours per week.

You will be based at Castlemilk Health Centre, 71 Dougrie Drive, Glasgow, G45 9AW.

The shift pattern is Monday-Friday (08:00-16:30), excluding public holidays.

Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the team administrator in auditing the use and cost of products.
  • Review ordering and supplies of products for care homes and community patients.
  • Attend staff meetings and engage with all clinical and mandatory training.
  • Participate in systems of practice support and personal development planning.
  • Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act and ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Work within divisional and local policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure maintenance of safe working practices for patients and colleagues.
  • Maintain good working relationships and use an empathetic approach with patients and carers.
  • Refer to a senior member of the team for any questions or for any suggestions or complaints that may be raised.
  • Participate with other multidisciplinary/multi agency staff who may require an overview of the administration of the ordering system including relevant paperwork and process.
  • Participate in audits required for organisational activity.
  • Support patients, families and carers to access the service to ensure they achieve their optimum health and independence in relation to continence.
Qualifications, Training, and Experience

Applicants should have relevant administration/business support experience; experience in health or social care is desirable.
