The Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle de Londres, one of Europe's leading international schools, is seeking to appoint an outstanding and experienced leader as Headteacher of its British section for September 2026 or January 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing academic section within a uniquely bilingual and bicultural environment, delivering the British curriculum alongside the French national system. The Headteacher will ensure alignment with both UK educational standards and the French Lycée system, fostering excellence, inclusion, and international-mindedness.
Key responsibilities will include:

Leading the section's strategic development in partnership with whole-school priorities

Acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in line with UK statutory guidance

Managing the British examinations centre in line with JCQ and Cambridge regulations
-
Overseeing curriculum design, delivery, and assessment

Staff leadership and development
-
Operational and financial management
Essential:
-
QTS (or equivalent)
-
A good honours degree
-
Extensive SLT experience within a secondary school environment

Strong knowledge and background delivering the British curriculum (GCSE and A level)

Training to at least Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) level

A background as a school inspector
-
Full fluency in French and English
Desired:
-
Direct experience of the French educational system (AEFE, Baccalauréat)

A background in the independent sector and international environments
-
Prior experience as a Headteacher
-
A background working effectively across multiple educational systems or frameworks
