WQE is a vibrant Sixth Form College located on University Road and Regent Road. We are looking to appoint a self motivated and enthusiastic Head of Welfare & Skills to lead the College's welfare and skills function.

Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient, responsive and flexible leadership of the welfare and skills function to ensure the best possible experiences, safety and outcomes for students.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the welfare and skills team.
  • Oversee strategic security arrangements in partnership with the Associate Principal for Students & Welfare, ensuring adherence to current legislation and guidance.
  • Manage a range of student support including medical conditions, mental health needs, SEND, exam access arrangements, EHCPs and Children Looked After.
  • Collaborate with the welfare and skills team across the University Road and Regent Road campuses.
Qualifications
  • Degree and PGCE or equivalent qualification.
  • Substantial teaching and safeguarding experience.
  • Experience working with 16-19 year olds and overseeing support arrangements for young people with additional needs.
  • Relevant SEND qualification and experience of implementing change (desirable).
Working Hours
  • Permanent, full time, term time
Salary and Benefits
  • Pay range: £33,465 - £51,714 per annum, plus a responsibility allowance commencing at £10,431 and rising annually to £12,398.
