Head of Waste Planning

We're looking for a visionary leader to take on one of the most critical planning roles in our organisation. As Head of Waste Planning, you'll be responsible for developing our next five-year strategic plans for wastewater services - including sewerage, treatment, and bioresources - balancing performance, cost, risk, and asset management expectations.

This is a rare opportunity to lead transformation in a business where two-thirds of our service delivery is rooted in wholesale wastewater. You'll be one of only two senior leaders entrusted with planning all wholesale activities across the business, working alongside the Head of Supply Planning.

What you'll do

• Lead the development of our next five-year wastewater investment plan.
• Collaborate with strategy and finance teams to optimise our investment plan and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Utilise the asset management framework to shape discipline-level plans, considering resilience, risk, and uncertainty.
• Represent the business in regulatory submissions and audits, including Ofwat and external reviews.
• Drive cultural change and process development to meet regulatory expectations.
• Provide senior leadership across the business.
• Work closely with delivery partners to ensure successful execution of the wastewater programme.

What you'll need

• Relevant technical qualification and experience overseeing complex delivery programmes.
• Proven track record in business transformation and planning.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, including regulatory liaison.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and influencing skills.
• Confidence to make or influence decisions appropriately.
