The Arts Council is the government agency for developing the arts in Ireland. We work in partnership with artists, arts organisations, public policy makers and others to build a central place for the arts in Irish life.
We have an exciting permanent, full-time 35 hours per week opportunity at the Higher Executive Officer (HEO) grade for Head of Visual Arts, a role that reports to the Creative Arts Director
Role Overview:The role of the Arts Council is pivotal in supporting the visual arts sector and ensuring the sustainability and vibrancy of the visual arts ecology. It does this by providing a broad range of funding and other supports. Visual Arts is one of the largest portfolios in the Arts Council.
Working closely with the Creative Arts Director and visual arts team, the Head of Visual Arts will ensure that the Arts Council's commitment to Visual Arts is appropriately incorporated into strategic planning and decision-making. The Head of Visual Arts will lead on policy formulation, development initiatives, funding and relationship management to deliver on Arts Council strategic objectives.
The Head of Visual Arts is also expected to effectively contribute to the delivery of the organisation's strategic goals.
