Job Description
Responsibilities 
- Lead a team of underwriters in Crisis Solutions and Kidnap & Ransom (KRE) to retain and profitably grow the existing book of business.
- Handle underwriting referrals within agreed decision making standards, limitations and underwriting authority.
- Assess desirability of risk through analysis of financial reports and accounts, review proposals, claims history and company information.
- Use designated underwriting systems to streamline processes across the profit centre.
- Ensure consistent and accurate capture of data for the underwriting team.
- Generate new business by expanding the broker network, attending broker events and building relationships.
- Provide excellent service to brokers through a timely, proactive approach.
- Serve as a guide, thought leader and referral point for all Crisis Solutions - Kidnap & Ransom underwriters.
- Connect underwriters with brokers.
- Ensure fair treatment of all brokers and clients and maintain a customer centric approach.
- Conduct self audit and ensure compliance with regulatory and risk management responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Proven underwriting or broking experience in Crisis Solutions and Kidnap & Ransom classes.
- Ability to present and sell Crisis Solutions and Kidnap & Ransom to clients.
- Full understanding of AIG UK's Crisis Solutions and Kidnap & Ransom product.
- Strong communication skills.
- Time management ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Analytical skills to interpret financial statements.
- Networking and relationship building skills.
