An exciting new opportunity offered as an initial 6-month interim role as additional capacity to work closely with the Assistant Director of Children's Social Care to deliver strategic improvements in partnership working across the council-wide service.
Currently, the service is facing a high demand of referrals per month, and a large part of this role involves supporting the re-education of partnership and providing tools to support children in the Youth Justice system.
My client will be shortlisting for interviews on Friday 20th June and holding MS Teams interviews next week.
Your duties as Head of Service Youth Justice- You'll be responsible for ensuring that the Youth Justice & Front Door services are responsive, dynamic, and effective in delivering community-based universal and targeted services based on evidence of identified need to meet the needs of children and families within the Borough.
- You'll be responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the Youth Justice & Front Door preventative services.
- Strategically lead and oversee the day-to-day service delivery of the Children's Services Youth Justice & Front Door preventative and support services.
- Ensure children in need of help and protection are identified promptly and their needs responded to effectively and proportionately.
- Ensure high standards of social work practice in line with the Children's Services systemic model of practice so that all children and families, both in universal and targeted services, as well as those in need of help and protection, receive quality, proportionate assessments.
- Social care qualification with active SWE registration.
- Must have strategic and operational leadership experience in a Head of Service role with subject matter understanding of specialist areas.
- Key skills in leadership and positive impact on partnerships must be clearly demonstrated.
- A systemic practice background.
- Experience managing large and complex budgets.
- Good references available for the last 2 years in the role.
