Head of Risk

Our client is an independent, Dublin based investment management firm with a growing presence across European markets. The firm manages UCITS strategies and discretionary portfolio mandates, supported by a robust regulatory and operational infrastructure. They are now seeking an experienced Head of Risk to lead the Risk function, reporting directly to the CEO and overseeing risk governance across both the management company and fund structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
• Oversee the identification, monitoring and mitigation of operational, financial, IT and third party risks across the organisation.
• Manage the risk profile of UCITS funds and managed portfolios, ensuring compliance with regulatory limits, liquidity requirements and investment guidelines.
• Lead regulatory and board reporting, ensuring clear, accurate and timely communication to senior stakeholders and the Board.
• Support fund launches from a risk perspective, ensuring all products are operationally robust and compliant from inception.
• Manage engagement with regulators, auditors, legal advisers and external service providers, including oversight of cyber risk and operational resilience.

Key Requirements

• 5-10 years' experience in risk management within the investment management or asset management industry.
• Strong understanding of UCITS, MiFID, and relevant Central Bank of Ireland regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with risk frameworks, stress testing, liquidity analysis, and regulatory reporting.
• Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders, regulators, and cross functional teams in a leadership capacity.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in dynamic environments.
