At St Nicholas Hospice Care, our retail teams generate an income of over £1m to support our services for people and their families living with long-term and life-threatening illnesses. The retail operation incorporates shops across West Suffolk, an online shop and a Donation Centre, all delivering high-quality retail experiences to our donors, customers and supporters, while maximising trading and gift aid income for the Hospice.
Following the completion of a restructure to increase the net profit contribution of our retail operations and to help support our long-term financial sustainability, we are now entering a new chapter for which we are recruiting a Head of Retail. This role will oversee all retail functions and is a senior leader within the Income Generation directorate as well as a member of the Hospice Leadership Team.

Your Role:
- Lead and inspire a team of shop managers, staff, and volunteers across multiple locations
- Develop and implement strategies and operational plans to increase income and retail performance
- Ensure shops reflect our brand, values, and commitment to excellent customer service
- Oversee stock management, merchandising, and donation strategies
- Build community engagement
What You Bring:
- Extensive senior level experience in multi-site retail management, ideally in the charity or not-for-profit sector
- Commercial awareness
- Strong leadership and people development skills
- Sound knowledge of charity retail governance, legal and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities
