We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to takeforward Lakeside Healthcares rapidly expanding research and businessdevelopment portfolio. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of theLakeside Research Unit, driving commercial growth, developing new partnerships,ensuring regulatory excellence, and overseeing the expansion of researchactivity across multiple sites. This is an excellent opportunity for anexperienced research leader with strong commercial insight and a passion forinnovation in primary care research.
Main duties of the job- Provide strategic business leadership to the ResearchUnit, ensuring the delivery of a high quality and innovative researchprogramme.
- Oversee commercial and academic clinical trialoperations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and governancerequirements.
- Lead business development activities includingproposition development, market analysis, and partnership growth across NHS,academic and commercial sectors.
- Manage the expansion of the Research Unit, including newsite openings and the mobile research unit.
- Act as senior liaison for external research partners,stakeholders and commercial organisations, representing Lakeside Healthcare atexternal meetings and forums.
The Lakeside Research Unit is entering an exciting new phaseof development. We are expanding our research capacity through new outreachsites, a mobile research unit, and the introduction of additional PrincipalInvestigator Partner Doctors. The successful candidate will join a growing,innovative department that plays a key strategic role in developing clinicalresearch and commercial services across Lakeside Healthcare.
Job responsibilitiesThe Head of Research andBusiness Development plays a critical leadership role in advancing LakesideHealthcares strategic goals through the development and delivery of ahigh-quality, innovative research programme and commercial service portfolio.
Reporting to the ChiefExecutive, and working closely with our ResearchPartners the postholder will provide strategic direction and operationaloversight for the Research and Business Development functions. Working with theResearch Parters, they will liaise with external researchers, commercialcompanies, and partner organisations seeking to conduct clinical trials in ournetwork. The role will also involve seeking new opportunities and developingalliances for additional contracts including neighbourhood and place contracts.
This role is pivotal inensuring effective governance, continuous improvement, and business growthwithin the research and additional services space in primary care.
Person Specification Qualifications- Educated to degree level or possess equivalent relevant experience
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Experience of commercial research set up within the NHS with a knowledge, understanding and experience of the legal, regulatory, and statutory governance of clinical trials
- Evidence of successful track record of driving growth
- Evidence of successful team and project management in a regulated environment
- Evidence of successful bid development and service implementation
