Our Data Management Services team (DMS) is a growing part of Bloomberg's Enterprise Data group. DMS helps bring Bloomberg's data together in a standardized model for easier and more consistent delivery across an organization's consuming systems. The DMS product - Data License Plus (DL+) is our next gen DL platform and provides a managed service for our clients.

What's the role?

We're looking for a dynamic Head of Product to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work with talented individuals to drive our product development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Product Management and a keen interest in understanding and shaping the future of our data products and solutions. You will work closely with our sales teams, product team, engineering and clients to deliver best-in-class products.

We'll trust you to:
  • Lead and develop talent within the product management function
  • Build a culture of delivery excellence, clear accountability and focus on outcomes
  • Develop career paths, coaching and succession planning within the product function
  • Drive the strategic direction of Product Management
  • Foster key relationships with Product, Engineering, Sales and other internal/external teams.
  • Create clear, simple comms for senior stakeholders, progress updates, risks, next steps
  • Gain an understanding of the DMS data model (UDM) and consider how the onboarding of new content will impact the model and product.
  • Build clear best practices for the product management team and new feature ideas.
  • Define product requirements and functional specifications through collaboration with multiple partners.
  • Work with internal and external teams during client onboarding processes to ensure timely and high-quality implementations.
  • Deliver new product information and product updates to stakeholders (e.g., sales, marketing, engineering, support teams, and clients).
  • Understand the product platform and its components and use it to improve client workflows.
  • Share and build knowledge within the product team.
You'll need to have:
  • 10+ years' experience driving product management, preferably in the financial services or fintech industries.
  • Leadership experience, setting strategies, objectives and key results
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in an agile/lean environment.
  • Technical knowledge includes but is not limited to use of SQL, Python, and Cloud technologies.
  • Experience working in an agile environment and fostering an agile culture.
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to balance multiple projects and priorities with appropriate judgment and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills
We'd love to see:
  • Knowledge of securities and trading lifecycle, typical front/middle/back-office functions.
  • Knowledge of asset classes like equities, fixed income, derivatives, indices, mortgages and their typical attributes and lifecycles, data used in the securities industry (especially related to reference data), pricing, FX, entity data, research data and OTCs.
  • Data modeling experience in the financial services industry.
  • An interest in meeting clients and prospects, learning about the industry and the challenges of implementing DL+, helping our global sales force.
  • Thought leadership, passion and excitement for the product space.
