Head of Product Design

Head of Product Design | Series B AI Startup

London (Old Street) | 5 days onsite | £120k (flexible for the right person + equity + benefits)

We're working with a Series B AI and physical security startup building a cloud platform that combines video surveillance, access control, visitor management and emergency response into one system.

They're looking for a Head of Product Design to own design across web and mobile, end to end. This is a rare opportunity to build a design function from the ground up - design system, processes, standards, and eventually a team while working closely with the CEO, Product and Engineering, with real influence over strategy and roadmap.

You'll be:

• Owning web and mobile product design end to end
• Building the design function from scratch, including design system, process and standards
• Working on complex enterprise UX for security operators, IT and facilities teams
• Balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution: research, UX, UI, prototyping, Figma, dev handoff
• Partnering closely with the CEO and cross-functional leads on product direction

You'll need:

• 7+ years in product design, with 2+ years in design leadership
• A track record of shipping exceptional mobile and web products at scale
• Deep experience building and scaling design systems and component libraries
• A portfolio showing both strategic thinking and strong execution
• Comfort operating at executive level, with a high sense of urgency
• Startup experience, and to be making a lateral move into this kind of role (not stepping up for the first time)
