We are looking for a Head of Procurement for our Rolling Stock and Customer Service Businesses to act as the strategic interface between the two Business Units and Siemens Mobility UKI Procurement. In this highly collaborative role, you'll be the central point of contact for all procurement activity, ensuring business needs are effectively translated and delivered through the wider procurement function. You'll be accountable for aligning procurement delivery with Business Unit and customer requirements, tracking performance against key KPIs and driving consistent, high quality outcomes. Acting as the voice of the customer within procurement, and the voice of the supplier back into the Business Unit, you'll play a critical role in enabling alignment, transparency and value delivery. Operating within a matrix environment, you'll influence and coordinate cross functional teams to ensure procurement activities are executed effectively, despite having no direct reports.

You'll Make a Difference By
  • Acting as the primary procurement interface for the CS & RS Business Unit, ensuring all procurement activity is aligned, communicated clearly and delivered to meet business and customer expectations.
  • Driving accountability for delivery, ensuring all SMO P UK&I procurement activities are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Translating business and customer needs into action, effectively channelling inputs from bids, projects and services into the relevant procurement teams and resolving escalations.
  • Owning and improving procurement performance, tracking KPIs, leading tier reviews and aligning closely with Bids & Projects Procurement to ensure effective delivery.
  • Aligning strategy across the business, working with Localisation & Regional Category Management to ensure procurement strategies support BU priorities and wider organisational goals.
  • Building strong customer and stakeholder relationships, fostering collaboration across UK&I, HQ and key regions to enable long term value and future opportunities.
  • Delivering financial, safety and operational excellence, ensuring budget adherence, driving cost and efficiency improvements, reducing supply chain risks, and embedding HSQE, compliance and continuous improvement across a matrix team.
What You'll Need To Succeed
  • Strong procurement management experience, particularly across direct spend within complex, delivery focused environments
  • Proven experience supporting major bids and projects, with the ability to align procurement activity to business and customer requirements
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix and multi disciplinary environment, influencing across teams without direct authority
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation expertise, with a focus on driving value and managing cost
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, building relationships at all organisational levels, both internally and externally
  • Confident communication and presentation skills, able to engage, influence and provide clear direction
  • Demonstrable procurement experience within complex, project led environments
Preferred
  • CIPS (or equivalent), a business or engineering degree, SAP experience, experience in multinational organisations, and managing or influencing teams within a matrix structure
  • Experience working in a rolling stock environment
