Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the senior leadership team of the national governing body for one of the UK's Olympic sports. The organisation supports athletes, coaches, and officials from grassroots to elite level.

AsOperations Manager, you'll play a central role in ensuring the organisation runs smoothly day to day while driving continuous improvement across all areas of business operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you'll lead on HR, IT, facilities, and organisational processes, ensuring everything behind the scenes works efficiently and effectively to support our members, staff, and strategic goals.

What you'll be doing
  • Oversee business operations, ensuring the organisation runs efficiently and in line with strategic objectives.
  • Lead the development and delivery of HR and operational policies, embedding best practice and compliance.
  • Manage and support the IT function and office infrastructure, ensuring robust systems and supplier partnerships.
  • Champion a positive, collaborative culture and effective communication across teams and departments.
  • Drive innovation and process improvements, finding smarter ways of working through technology and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards, including health and safety, data protection, and risk management.
  • Lead on staff recruitment, onboarding, and performance management, fostering professional growth and engagement.
What we're looking for

You'll be an experienced operations professional who can balance strategic thinking with practical delivery. You'll have:

  • A strong track record in operational or business management, ideally within a membership, not-for-profit, or sporting environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and influence people at all levels.
  • A proactive mindset and passion for continuous improvement, efficiency, and organisational excellence.
  • Strong project management skills, with the confidence to lead change and manage multiple priorities.
