As Head of Operations, you'll report to the Director of Operations and lead seamless, values-driven operations across SCN and SCH to power impact and growth.
- Own core operations: embed fit-for-purpose tools, systems and process maps; deliver regular performance and risk reporting.
- Line manage the Operations Manager and HR Manager; set objectives, manage capacity and nurture development.
- Co-develop and run the Social Change Hive (payroll & employment service) with the CEO/HR Manager.
- Oversee HR operations for staff and Hive clients: onboarding, changes, exits, monthly payroll and salary sacrifice schemes.
- Advise and support clients on operations, governance, compliance and systems; review subcontracting and non-standard terms.
- Partner with Finance on grants/sub-grants and with Governance/Risk on contracting risks, incidents and the risk register.
- Champion a positive, trauma-informed culture; drive continuous improvement and alignment across the Social Change Group.
- Significant operations leadership experience in fast-paced or start-up settings.
- Excellent project management, organisation and attention to detail; able to prioritise multiple workstreams.
- Hands-on experience with operational systems (CRM, project/capacity tools) and reporting.
- Strong HR operations knowledge, including policies, onboarding/offboarding and payroll oversight.
- Working knowledge of basic company law; confident drafting/reviewing contracts.
- Proven line management skills and clear, confident stakeholder communication.
- Understanding of compliance and risk management frameworks and reporting.
- Commitment to SCN's trauma-informed, values-led approach.
