Head of Non-Financial Risk
The role involves driving good industry practices in the identification, assessment, and management of non-financial risks and controls across MRSGM, including operational risks and other non-financial risks such as group risks. This is in support of the Head of ERM, alongside the Head of Financial Risk.
Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation and embedding of the Non-Financial Risk framework, aligning with the MRSGM ERM framework, strategic objectives, Group, and regulatory requirements. This includes implementing tools and systems like GRC.
- Monitor and report non-financial risk exposures and controls for management and governing bodies to support key decisions, risk management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide risk management support and challenge to the business, support development of risk appetite and metrics, promote risk awareness, and report on the risk profile and incidents.
- Participate in governance meetings, escalate issues, and represent the team to external regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Support training and risk culture initiatives, promote industry best practices, collaborate on new business and change initiatives, and manage staff and development plans.
Knowledge and Skills
- Risk management qualification or relevant experience
- Strong insurance knowledge, UK market preferred, Lloyd's of London experience desirable
- Understanding of current risk management environment
- Stakeholder management, flexibility, change management skills
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills, attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, management skills, business-oriented mindset
- University degree or relevant professional qualification
