Head of Medical - Professional Football Club

Sporting Jobs are working with a professional sports club in the East Midlands who are looking to appoint a Head of Medical to join their performance and medical team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist with a strong background in professional sport who is ready to step up into a senior position, leading on player health, performance, and rehabilitation across the first team and wider squads.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athlete injuries across the club.
• Provide pitch-side medical cover for training and matches as required.
• Develop and implement evidence-based medical and rehabilitation protocols.
• Mentor junior physiotherapists and support staff, promoting best practice within the medical department.
• Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years' experience as a physiotherapist, including significant time working within a professional sports environment.
• Excellent knowledge of sports injury management, rehabilitation, and recovery processes.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ambitious and ready to take the next step into a senior role within elite sport.
