Head of Maths (Permanent - January 2026)

A thriving secondary school in Camberley/Ash is seeking an ambitious and dedicated Head of Maths to join its team on a permanent basis from January 2026. This is an exciting leadership opportunity to inspire students and staff within a supportive, inclusive, and high-achieving environment.

The School

The school is a welcoming 11-16 secondary, part of a successful multi-academy trust. With a strong community ethos, the school is committed to providing exceptional education founded on excellence, opportunity, and cohesion. Ofsted rated the school Good in all areas (2022), highlighting the uncompromising aspirations staff hold for pupils.

Students benefit from a broad, ambitious curriculum, excellent pastoral care, and a culture built on aspiration, resilience, and respect. With around 800 students, the school is small enough for staff to know pupils individually, yet large enough to offer wide opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.

The Role

We are looking for a dynamic Head of Maths to lead a successful department and drive forward standards of teaching and learning. The successful candidate will:

  • Provide professional leadership and management for the Maths faculty.
  • Set the strategic and operational direction of the department through effective planning.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a committed team of teachers.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Monitor progress, implement interventions, and ensure positive outcomes for all students.
  • Contribute to whole-school leadership and culture, modelling the school's values and vision.
Candidate Requirements
  • A relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong subject knowledge and successful experience teaching Maths across Key Stages 3-4 (KS5 desirable).
  • A proven track record of raising achievement and leading improvement.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire staff and students.
  • Commitment to professional development and to the wider life of the school.
What We Offer
  • A welcoming and supportive school community.
  • Opportunities for leadership development within the department and across the Trust.
  • Access to a comprehensive CPD programme.
  • Competitive salary (MPS/UPS + TLR) and benefits, including Teachers' Pension Scheme and well-being support.

If you are an enthusiastic and committed leader looking to make a lasting impact, we would love to hear from you.
