Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Logistics Manager to lead the development and delivery of our clientsIntegrated Logistics Service across multiple sites. This is a pivotal leadership role, ensuring operational excellence and driving strategic transformation in logistics and facilities services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement the Integrated Logistics Service strategy.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across:
    • Materials Management & Warehousing
    • Linen & Laundry
    • Transport & Post
    • Waste Management
  • Drive innovation through fleet optimisation, digital tracking, SOP harmonisation, and infection control compliance.
  • Embed data-driven performance management, developing KPIs and dashboards with BI teams.
  • Maintain robust risk management, audits, and business continuity plans.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and environmental standards.
  • Champion workforce development, training, and succession planning.
  • Foster a positive culture of engagement, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide senior leadership to Service Managers and Supervisors.
  • Represent Logistics and Facilities at governance forums and act as Deputy to the Associate Director of Facilities.
Person Specification

Essential:

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in Facilities Management or related field.
  • Idellay a member of a professional body (IWFM, CILT UK, etc.).
  • Significant experience leading logistics or facilities operations in a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong strategic and operational leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, analyse data, and deliver efficiencies.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Car driver with ability to travel between sites.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of sustainability, carbon reduction, and ESG principles.
  • Experience managing multiple service lines (transport, waste, laundry, etc.).
Working Conditions
  • Cross-site working between Cheltenham and Gloucester hospitals.
  • Office-based with occasional manual handling of light goods.
  • Flexible working hours to meet service demands.
  • Participation in senior manager on-call rota.

This is a temporary to permanent role for the successful candidate.
