To support our growth and strengthen the development of our institution, UniDistance Switzerland is looking for a: Head of Legal Services (100%) Work location: Brig Start date: April 1, or to be agreed. As part of its institutional development, UniDistance Switzerland is creating the position of Head of Legal Services. Within the Central Services department and reporting to the Director of Central Services, the incumbent will be responsible for designing, structuring, and developing the Legal Services since its inception. He/she ensures legal and regulatory compliance of the institution's activities, advises governance bodies, faculties, and services, and contributes to the decision-making and processes. The role plays a key part in governance, management of legal risks, and protection of the legal interests and missions of UniDistance.Responsibilities:- Design, establish, and lead the Legal Services, ensuring an efficient and service-oriented approach.- Provide transversal legal support and advice to the institution, particularly to governance bodies, faculties, and services.- Guarantee legal and regulatory compliance of institutional activities and the legal security of decisions, agreements, and contracts.- Manage legal risk, prevent disputes, and propose appropriate measures.- Contribute to and promote legal culture within the staff.Profile:- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Swiss law, a bar exam would be a plus.- Proven experience (approximately 5 years or more) in a legal position with responsibilities, ideally in the public, semi-public, or academic sector.- Excellent command of public law, particularly labor law and data protection law, as well as areas related to intellectual property and digital technologies.- Strong analytical, synthesis, and communication skills with a solution-oriented approach, adaptable to an evolving institutional environment.- Comfortable working in a digital setting, with a strong affinity for interdisciplinary work.- Proficiency in French or German, with very good knowledge of the other language; good knowledge of English is desired.- Leadership skills and experience in team management, or willingness to develop them.What we offer:- Stimulating environment: An opportunity to work in a dynamic academic setting with varied projects that allow for creativity and innovation.- Flexibility: We offer hybrid working arrangements and great flexibility, enabling a balance between work and private life.- Engaged team: By joining UniDistance Switzerland, you will be part of a passionate, multidisciplinary team committed to the mission and success of our institution.- Modern and pleasant campus: Our modern campus is located just a few minutes' walk from the charming old town of Brig and the CFF train station.
