Head of IT

Our Listowel, County Kerry based clients are presently recruiting for a Head of Information Technology. You will lead the delivery of secure, reliable, and business-focused IT services. This senior leadership role combines strategic planning, operational management, and technology transformation to ensure IT capabilities support organisational goals and continuous improvement. This is a full time, permanent position based in Listowel, County Kerry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the organisation's IT strategy, aligning technology investments with business priorities.
• Manage relationships with outsourced IT service providers, ensuring compliance with contracts, SLAs, KPIs, and service quality standards.
• Lead IT capital projects, including office fit outs, infrastructure upgrades, and technology refresh programmes, delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Oversee the implementation, optimisation, and governance of ServiceNow and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
• Manage and develop Field Technicians and support teams, ensuring effective onsite and nationwide service delivery.
• Monitor IT performance metrics and drive continual service improvement.
• Lead incident, problem, and change management activities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify technology requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
• Manage IT budgets, procurement, vendor relationships, and technology contracts.
• Ensure strong cybersecurity, risk management, compliance, and business continuity practices.
• Deliver infrastructure, application, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Mentor staff and promote a culture of accountability, customer service, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8-10 years' IT experience, including 3-5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience managing outsourced IT providers and enterprise service management platforms such as ServiceNow.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL and service management practices.
• Experience in cloud technologies, cybersecurity, enterprise infrastructure, and regulated environments.
• TIL, PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile certifications.
• Proven project delivery, stakeholder management, leadership, and budget management experience.
