Head of Healthcare

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Healthcare to join our Healthcare team at HMP Lewes, a local remand category B prison in Lewes.
HoursMonday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week. On call at weekends once every couple of months on average.
SalaryThis position is full time, with an annual salary up to £68,000 + £4,000 car allowance, depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job- Provide pro-active management of the healthcare services on site
- Maintain the strategic direction of the service and deliver agreed contractual requirements and targets from NHS England
- Be responsible for delivering a highly functional clinical service, within the budget, with support from the finance business partner and regional manager
- Form part of the wider prison senior leadership team, working with other key stakeholders to ensure the contract becomes highly functional and health services become fully embedded with the prison as a whole
- Ensure agreed standards are achieved by leading, developing and motivating your team ensuring they receive appropriate supervision and performance appraisal
- Be the CQC registered manager and implement internal and external policies and procedures, particularly those with statutory implications

Qualifications and experience- Degree or appropriate equivalent level of experience and clinical qualification
- Inclusive leadership approach embedding a culture of continuous progression and innovation
- Ability to influence and deliver information to key partners and stakeholders
- Experience as a CQC registered manager, or equivalent registered body
- Experience managing multifaceted budgets
- Disclosure and Barring Service check: this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and will require a DBS disclosure
- UK registration: applicants must have current UK professional registration
