Job Description

Overall Purpose

This role combines (i) the day-to-day management of GM Operations in the UK, (ii) oversight of other GM Operations sites in EMEA, and (iii) representing GMO EMEA in projects involving Operations streams.

  • Manage and control the processing of all London Global Markets originated transactions, ensuring operational efficiency and controls. Extend processes to specific situations such as Commodities NY and Asia, newly created desks, and new activities where applicable.
  • Supervise processing of Global Markets transactions originated in EMEA, monitoring process performance in line with global standards through teams in London, Frankfurt, and Luxemburg.
  • Own booking processes, seek continuous improvement, streamline operations, and ensure safety across functions, geographies, and business units.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives for CIB and COO, including input to projects impacting Operations, e.g., Front to Ops.

Head of EMEA GMO UK & EMEA (circa 70%)

  • Lead team organization and management.
  • Supervise processing of transactions in EMEA, monitoring performance with teams in London, Frankfurt, and Luxemburg.
  • Act as escalation point for GMO-related matters.
  • Ensure global consistency by implementing best practices, rules, and guidelines locally.
  • Coordinate projects between Head Office and local sites.
  • Monitor controls regionally, reduce operational risk.
  • Contribute to financial monitoring, including costs, headcounts, and budgets, collaborating with country COOs.
  • Set objectives and evaluate performance for GMO teams in EMEA, contributing to the ACR process with country COOs, especially for GMO UK.
  • Provide leadership in restructuring and daily management, aiming for operational excellence.
  • Implement management practices such as SMART objectives, regular reviews, and team meetings to promote a high-performance culture.
  • Build strong relationships with London and Head Office Operations management to align departmental and company objectives.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery to Business Support clients, traders, and external clients.
  • Support new business initiatives, applying problem-solving skills for new solutions.
  • Maintain internal controls and reconciliations to reduce operational risk.
  • Ensure comprehensive trade lifecycle knowledge and effective communication with Paris and other control teams.
  • Analyze, report, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Develop management reports and dashboards reflecting operational and financial status supported by Natixis.

Projects (circa 30%)

  • Lead operational efficiency projects impacting GM setup across EMEA based on regional business lines.
