This role involves the day-to-day management of Global Markets Operations (GMO) in the UK and EMEA oversight.
As Head of GMO UK, you will manage and control the processing of all London-originated Global Markets transactions. Your responsibilities include delivering operational efficiency and ensuring appropriate controls for transactions booked and processed in London, as well as those booked in London but processed in Paris.
You will supervise the processing of Global Markets transactions, monitor process performance in line with global standards, and own the booking processes, continuously seeking improvements, streamlining operations, and enhancing safety across functional silos, geographies, and business units.
You will contribute to strategic initiatives for the CIB and COO, including projects like Front to Ops, and manage regulatory transaction reporting.
Management of Global Market Operations (GMO) UK circa 70%)
- Organize and lead the UK team and coordinate with the EMEA GMO team, including projects and staff management.
- Supervise transaction processing, monitor process performance, and act as an escalation point for GMO matters.
- Ensure global consistency through the implementation of best practices and processing guidelines.
- Coordinate projects between Head Office and local sites.
- Monitor controls regionally to reduce operational risks.
- Contribute to financial monitoring, including costs, headcounts, and budgets, collaborating with country COOs.
- Set objectives and evaluate performance for GMO teams, participating in the ACR process with country COOs, specifically for UK.
- Lead departmental restructuring and daily management, striving for operational excellence.
- Implement good management practices, promote a performance culture, and develop strong relationships with London and Head Office operations.
- Ensure high-quality service delivery to internal clients (Front Office, Sales, Traders) and external clients.
- Support new business initiatives, develop solutions, and manage internal controls and reconciliations to reduce risks.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of trade lifecycles and coordinate with teams in Paris and other control functions.
- Analyze, report, and resolve issues, developing management dashboards and reports.
Drive operational efficiency projects across UK and EMEA based on regional business lines.
Skills required include strong knowledge of Global Market Products, operations experience in Commodities, Rates, Credit, FX, Equity, understanding of trade processes, regulatory requirements, GM systems architecture, process improvement, people management, change management, strategic thinking, and vendor management.
